They're two completely direnfeft experiences so you're gonna need to weigh the pros and cons of each. If all you wanna do is play games and are mostly home, I'd definitely get a PS3. If you're out most the time and just want a gaming device, I'd get a PSP (or PSP's upcoming successor, Sony Playstation Vita which was just announced) or Nintendo 3DS. If you want a device that can do more than just gaming (but not better at gaming) better than those platforms, I'd go with an iPad 2.
